Through its presence in Florida, King Ranch is the largest juice orange producer in the United States.
This operation consists of more than a dozen separate grove locations throughout the southern half of Florida and totals approximately forty thousand tree-planted acres. The core business of this partnership is the production of juice oranges, with approximately ninety-one percent of the annual harvest consisting of the preferred Valencia and other juice varieties. The remainder of the harvest is made up of grapefruit and specialty fruit.
King Ranch’s citrus operations continue the tradition of innovation that has come to characterize King Ranch. Citrus workers use state-of-the-art spraying and harvesting equipment. Irrigation and pesticide spraying equipment include sensors that detect the size of trees so that water and pesticides are applied only as needed and never over-applied. King Ranch consistently applies the principles of “best management practices” to all of its Florida citrus operations.
